DEAN BURNETTI LAW’S VETERANS DAY CARD MAKING CONTEST PUTS LAKELAND’S MOST TALENTED KIDS TO WORK

LAKELAND, FL, November 9, 2017. – Recently, Dean Burnetti Law partnered with Lakeland Christian School to sponsor the law firm’s “Thank a Veteran” Card Making Contest. Elementary students competed in two age groups, kindergarten through second grade, and third through fifth grade. Each group received third place prizes of 4 movie passes to Cobb Theatre; second place prizes of $50 gift cards to Target; and grand prizes of $100 gift cards to Target. Several children received Honorable Mention ribbons and certificates.

Mr. Burnetti passed out awards to the artists, then delivered 216 cards to the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa. Accordingly, a hospital spokesperson guaranteed that the patients would be very appreciative. The spokesperson said that approximately 250 veterans are in-patients at any given time; and many are often alone or forgotten. Additionally, he said that the hospital houses approximately 50 more permanent elderly residents; and yet another 50 residents live there due to respiratory conditions. Furthermore, he said the hospital patients and staff are always pleased and excited to be remembered.

When asked why he initiated the contest, Burnetti said, “So many of our nation’s men and women have given so much. Because of the freedom veterans made possible, I was able to recognize my dream of owning a Christian law firm. As the saying goes, ‘All gave some, and some gave all.’ Even their spouses, children, and parents who waited for their return while they fought made sacrifices for my freedom. That’s a debt I can never repay.”
